Mon, 01 Jan 2007
Guisborough based PR agency DTW has announced the appointment of three new board directors.
Chris Taylor, Lorna McAteer-Bingham and Jain Whelan have joined the board as the company aims to extend its reputation as one of the country’s leading specialist public sector communications agencies.
Chris Taylor is a strategic PR and media relations specialist. He has ten years’ industry experience and has been with DTW for three years. He has widespread experience across the public and private sectors, specifically in regeneration and housing, inward investment and business to business related projects. He is particularly experienced in handling complex partnership projects operating across the public and private sectors.
Lorna McAteer-Bingham is a highly creative new media public relations specialist who leads DTW’s new media PR team, which devises, builds and maintains web and multi-media PR solutions for a wide range of clients. She has been with DTW for seven years.
Jain Whelan has 20 years’ experience in public relations, marketing and event management. She has been an Account Director with DTW since 1991. Jain has worked extensively in the education and adult learning sector as well as in consumer and business-to-business PR and marketing.
They join Chairman and Managing Director Pete Whelan, and existing Directors Doug Allan and Robin Treacher, on the DTW board. The company employs 15 people at its base in Guisborough in Cleveland.
Pete Whelan said: “We expect our specialist markets in local and central government, education, environment, waste management, regeneration and inward investment to continue to grow in the coming years.
“This move is aimed at consolidating the senior management of the company and preparing us to deal with some of the opportunities we expect to arise.
“The fact that the new Directors come to public relations from different communications disciplines reflects our approach of providing integrated PR solutions to clients’ needs.”
The agency works for clients across the UK, including the Department for Communities and Local Government, Standard Fireworks, waste management company SITA UK, housing regeneration body Tees Valley Living and over 50 local authorities including Aylesbury Vale and Warrington.
