Guisborough-based PR and marketing agency DTW has been appointed to provide media relations support for a major employment and skills initiative in the North East.
The company has been chosen to raise the profile of the Tyne & Wear City Region Pathfinder Employment Partnership and provide PR and media relations support for its developing activities.
The Partnership, which covers 13 local authority areas, is one of 15 employment pathfinders set up by the government in 2006 to bring greater support to those seeking employment and skills training.
Employment and Skills Delivery Manager Shona Duncan said: “Since securing pathfinder status, the Partnership has put in place the strategy and mechanisms for delivering a demand-led approach to employment and skills.
“We are now ready to tackle the many challenges – low rates of employment, inadequate skills, social deprivation, and child poverty – which impact on people’s working lives.
“We are confident that DTW has the regional knowledge and PR expertise to help us increase our media presence and ensure our key messages hit home.”
DTW Director Doug Allan said: “We will be helping the Partnership to gain recognition for its critically important agenda and activities across the City Region and beyond, as well as promoting individual initiatives and schemes across the region aimed at tackling worklessness and skills training..
“This is a great opportunity for DTW to be involved in an important and challenging element of the City Region agenda.
“We’re looking forward to working with the partners – government, local authorities, employers and the voluntary sector – to highlight the many excellent initiatives underway and successes of companies and individuals.”
